I have only had this for a couple of months, but it's worked out really well. Easy set up, good sound, good value.
However, when I got it, everyone says my voice is too faint (even though I am next to the mic). The phone itself is fine, but you get this for the speakerphone. So I ended up using a headset, which defeats the purpose of spending the money on this phone in the first place. This Polycom is not the same quality as those in corporate conference rooms (of course those units cost a LOT more).
This phone should be your first and only choice. Next, I tried the AT&T 993 Corded 2-Line Speakerphone and found this model's speakerphone and headset performance to be even worse than the previous Uniden cordless. I would have given it 5 stars if it offered a data port and didn't have minor visibility issues when resting on a flat work surface. In short, I needed a phone that provided peak performance since most of my time is spent on the phone. This phone meets and exceeds the needs of any small business. Finally I decided to spend a lot more money and give the Polycom Soundpoint Pro SE-220 a try.
Visibility of the LCD display I believe can be improved with an inexpensive phone stand/organizer from any of the office supply online retailers. This was my 3rd attempt at a new 2-line phone for a home based business offering professional financial services. I originally tried the Uniden TRU9466 cordless but speakerphone and headset performance was less than adequate. Speakerphone performance is far superior to any other phone.
In the past I used a speaker phone that I got from a local outlet for phones. This new phone is far superior. I would recommend this phone. I am part of an advocacy group that has at least one conference call every month. The volume is much better, there are more options with controls, and it is simple to operate.
Convenient speed dial capability. The headset button allows me to seamlessly switch from handset or speakerphone to headset mode. The only problem I've had with this phone in 5 years is that the power adapter died about a year ago; however, I was able to purchase a generic replacement power adapter from RadioShack for fifteen dollars and I was soon back up and running. Separate call logs of incoming and outgoing calls. Speaker phone quality on a par with Polycom Soundstation conference room phones. Works great with headset.
I work out of a home office and this phone fits perfectly into my office environment.Highlights:1. I can conduct conference calls in speakerphone mode and never have to worry about not being heard.2. I am able to store all my important and frequently used numbers and dial them with just a couple of key presses.3. I use my phone in combination with a Plantronics headset. I have owned my Polycom Soundpoint Pro SE-220 for 5 years and it has worked flawlessly throughout this period.
When I use the speaker phone, people have commented that this is the clearest speaker phone they have ever heard. Allows me to quickly and easily redial or call back.4.
